Learn To Play Gospel Piano

Ethel Caffie-Austin has put together two of the best videos on playing Black Gospel music that I know of to date. I purchased the original VHS set, but then ended up giving them to a student. I then bought the DVD version for myself when I found a good price on eBay.

There are several things that I like about these videos:

1. Ethel plays in the Black Gospel style, which is a happy sound to begin with.
2. She teaches you as things happen naturally. For example, she will play a song as though she were playing it in church, but every time she comes to a new run or fill-in, she stops and explains it to you.
3. The videos come with a music booklet so that you can see the notes on paper. The transcriptions are not perfect, but do well enough to help you get the idea of what's going on.
4. I like the music.
